The LinkedIn Top 50 Startup recognized by NC Technology Association as Small Tech Company of the Year and most innovative use of technology for customer service

RALEIGH, NC—Nov. 13, 2017—Pendo.io, creator of the leading SaaS-based Product Experience Platform, today announced that it has been selected as the 2017 winner of two award categories at the NC Tech Awards: Small Technology Company of the Year and Most Innovative Use of Technology for Customer Service. Winners were recognized at the annual awards gala on Thursday, November 9 at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel and Convention Center in Durham, NC. This year’s event was attended by more than 700 leaders from across the state.

“Since 1995, the NC Tech Awards has honored excellence and innovation throughout North Carolina, representing the best and brightest,” said Brooks Raiford, president and CEO of NCTA. “As a winner, Pendo has distinguished itself as a peer-leader and we are proud to recognize them as a 2017 NC Tech Awards winner.”

The Small Technology Company of the Year Award recognizes excellence in product innovation, market penetration, sales growth and employment expansion. Over the past year, Pendo has grown revenue by 400% and more than doubled headcount to over 165 employees. In 2018, the company expects to more than double revenue and grow to over 300 employees.

“We’re honored to be recognized by NCTA,” said Todd Olson, co-founder and CEO of Pendo. “As a company, we’re fiercely proud of our North Carolina heritage and the fact that we’ve continued to find success in a place we love and call home.”

This recognition comes closely on the heels of recent news that LinkedIn named Pendo one of LinkedIn’s Top Companies | Startups, a list of 50 industry disruptors selected from an eligible field of 25,000 startups. The list includes Silicon Valley stalwarts like Slack, Stripe, Dropbox, Uber and Lyft, as well as Raleigh-based Pendo. Last week, Pendo CEO Todd Olson was one of three entrepreneurs from across the country to speak on a Dreamforce panel moderated by billionaire entrepreneur and “Shark Tank” star Mark Cuban on what it takes to achieve Silicon Valley success without a Silicon Valley address. A replay of the panel can be viewed here.

Olson continued: “As thrilled as I am to see Pendo named Small Technology Company of the Year, I’m every bit as proud to see us recognized for our innovation in customer service. Most companies see themselves as customer focused, but we’ve built these values into our culture. You can see this in our people, in our processes, and in our use of our own product.”

This award recognizes companies that have utilized technology to improve customer engagement throughout the sales cycle and/or utilized customer feedback to improve a product or service. Pendo uses its own platform in product management and the pre- and post-sales customer experience. Pre-sales, Pendo uses Pendo to analyze and guide user interactions in trial and evaluations. Post-sales, Pendo customer success teams use Pendo to understand product usage patterns and to proactively engage customers to ensure they’re maximizing the value they derive from the product. Additionally, Pendo product managers use Pendo for prioritizing features and enhancements based on product usage data and user feedback.
